Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager F&B the Kitchen Table Dining Attendant will set the tone for 1440 Multiversity's food and beverage service by passionately modeling our values of providing fresh, vibrant, and nutritious food that creates a delightful food experience. The Kitchen Table Dining Attendant is responsible for providing excellent service, creating and maintaining an inviting delightful dining environment and ensuring cleanliness of all Food & Beverage related areas for the guests of 1440 Multiversity. The Kitchen Table Dining Attendant is a vital part of the food service management team and must assist in a smooth running of service in line with the 1440 Cuisine Profile and the mission, vision and values.  

Accountabilities 

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships and communication within the department, both with front of house staff and cooking team.
  • Follow the service standards in line with the 1440 Multiversity Cuisine Profile and the organization's vision, mission and values
  • Follow sanitation protocols set by Culinary team.
  • Interact with guests continually to ensure excellent service and communicate food-related questions to the chef on duty. Escalate any guest concerns to the chef, manager or supervisor as appropriate.
  • Serve food according to the menu and chef's design, ensuring consistency in portions, temperature, aesthetics, and quality.
  • Ensure all stations at Kitchen Table are neat and organized, with attention to detail as the standard. Learn steps for opening and closing and assist in operational procedures.
  • Ensure all food, condiments, and garnishes are being rotated and dated properly.
  • Brew and serve all coffee, tea and juices. Ensure they are served fresh.
  • Grow to the ability to setup and breakdown stations independently.
  • Ensure dining hall is cleaned and maintained to 1440 standards.
  • Stock and clean fruit and dairy stations independently.
  • Assist with displays with signage accuracy.
  • Assist in set up and break down of Teaching Kitchen events.
  • Ensure all bus carts and dish storage is clean and sanitized.
  • Ensure cleanliness of storage, service, and dining areas, including but not limited to removal of dirty dishes and trash, mopping, cleaning glass, wiping tables, etc.
  • Ensuring all utensils, glassware and cups are available and stocked for the guests.
  • Assist in tracking guest counts, silverware, napkins, lost and found, and changing menu boards.
  • Maintaining neat and clean stations at Kitchen Table.
  • Learn, follow and consistently deliver the sequence of Service for Kitchen Table in all meal periods, from beginning to end, understanding the different stages of services depending on guest counts and expected diners still to be served. Support all areas of the dining experience including but not limited to food running, serving, clearing dishware and trays from guests, breaking station and cleaning process.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrate a high-level of knowledge of our cuisine profile.
  • Have a current California Food Handler's Card. Become certified in CPR/ first aid.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Ability to be well organized, maintain concentration, good timing and clear thinking in fast-paced environment. Work with a sense of urgency.
  • Experience working in the front of house with attention to customer service.
  • Demonstrate experience and knowledge in impeccable front of house service standards, preferably in a large-scale dining environment.
  • Experience providing an excellent guest experience, including creating loyalty and repeat customers.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain positive relationships with both FOH and BOH employees.
  • Proven ability to build successful relationships with both the supervisory team and peers.
  • Affinity with 1440 Multiversity's mission and core values.
  • Demonstrate experience in and enthusiasm for process improvement.
  • Highly collaborative, flexible team player, keen to engage in positive, supportive, professional relationships.
  • Available for all scheduled shifts with flexibility to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Working in varying temperatures and weather conditions in inside and outside areas where guests dine or are served.
  • Able work standing and walking for up to 8 hours. Able to lift, push/ pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
