Position Summary

The Digital Marketing Lead helps to manage and drive social media channels and inbound marketing efforts, including planning, execution, and tracking/optimization. This position works closely with other Digital and Marketing team members to accurately represent our brand and achieve business goals.  

Accountabilities

  • Coordinates and executes all social media and email campaigns. Builds and maintain social media presence.
  • Works with Manager of Digital Marketing Strategy to execute strategic plans regarding social media, email, landing pages, and website promotion.
  • Establishes, documents and manages internal processes as well as relationships with external partners.
  • Works closely with all Marketing Team members to project manage completion of all 1440 email campaigns. Assigns tasks for completion by Creative and Editorial team members. 
  • Works closely with all Marketing Team members to project manage completion of 1440 digital blasts for strategic partnerships media buys
  • Communicates regularly with Programming Team to ensure execution of numerous faculty promotions
  • Works closely with faculty members to gather materials, schedule Facebook Lives, Instagram stories and takeovers.
  • Responds in company voice to Facebook comments, Instagram comments, and Twitter comments.Gathers key input from 1440 leadership in times of adverse comments from customers.
  • Writes and schedules all Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts and Instagram stories. Maintains all company social media pages, including regular updating of cover photos and responding to inquiries via messaging.
  • Monitors external review sites, including Google Reviews, TripAdvisor, and Yelp. Responds in company voice as directed.
  • Creates and tasks out Facebook ad campaigns. Monitors daily performance of Facebook ads and adjusts spend as needed.
  • Maintains 1440 YouTube channel. Uploads videos, provides captioning, and crossloads to website and other social media channels.
  • Works with other campus teams to incorporate campus images and stories into the 1440 social media presence, including on video and in photos.
  • Acts as key consultant for determination of where marketing efforts could be optimized for faculty members, i.e. Instagram over Facebook, blogpost vs. video, etc. based on data survey of faculty member social media accounts, etc.
  • Creates tracking systems for Marketing Team to provide current and accurate data on faculty promotion efforts in the realm of Digital Marketing.
  • Works closely with external teams of major programs (ex: Andrew Weil, Greater Good) to keep 1440 Digital Marketing efforts on schedule as well keep efforts of external teams on schedule per agreed up on promotion effort list. Serves a point person for information to Programming and Marketing Teams.
  • Ensures Call Center is kept aware of upcoming digital promotion effortsso staffing is available. 
  • Coordinates all Facebook Lives for 1440, on occasion serving as the host. Supports (as needed) FB Lives hosted by other 1440 employee
  • Hosts and executes webinar campaigns, including all promotion efforts. Works closely with the Web Specialist to ensure flawless execution of production during webinar and in follow-up
  • Brainstorms new and creative growth strategies with Manager of Digital Marketing Strategy.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to create landing pages and e-newsletters.Collaborates with agencies and other vendor partners.
  • Utilizes Google Analytics and website tracking systems, as well as other marketing platform analytics, to assess digital marketing efforts.
  • Other special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • BS degree in marketing or a related field strongly preferred and/or proven working experience in digital/web marketing (a minimum of 3 years), required
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing marketing database, email, social media and digital advertising campaigns
  • A good balance of technical skills and creativity, with experience in executing digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages
  • Experience with marketing automation and inbound marketing
  • Solid knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in inbound, online marketing, and measurement
  • Ability to learn and operate new systems, research and execute best practices, and adapt the ever-growing/changing mobile/social trends 
  • Strong orientation to 1440's mission, vision and values
  • Flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, holidays as required
  • Work in an open office concept workspace

This role requires working with a team in an office/ campus environment and is not a remote role. Any need for occasional offsite work or business-related travel is at the discretion of senior management and therefore, must be approved prior to booking travel. All expenses or commitments of department funds for any reason, must be approved in advance by the Hospitality Committee or a senior department manager.
