Position Summary

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of skilled, journey-level duties in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of building and campus. The Maintenance Technician II may advance to a higher level after gaining work experience, taking training classes, and gaining certification and demonstrating proficiency through written and oral examinations.




  • Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations.
  • Performs electrical maintenance to include, but not be limited to, replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, motion sensors, power windows, LED fixtures, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
  • Performs plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
  • Performs painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
  • Reconfigures, installs, positions, and re-mounts modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.
  • Inspect and repair doors, door handles, hydraulic closers, weather stripping, window cranks and screens.
  • Monitor and care for Infinity Tube. (Daily testing and recording of Chemical balance, making adjustments, regular backwashing of Sand Filter systems, cleaning and inspection of the tubs function and integrity, maintaining chemical and testing supplies and equipment, knowledge of and ability to drain and reboot the tub as needed).
  • Maintain required documents in work order system, Synergy Work Orders.
  • Preventative maintenance, maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment, water heating and cooling systems, commercial kitchen equipment, commercial LED and standard lighting systems, doors and closers, furnishings, pool monitoring, adjustments and repairs, fleet vehicles.
  • Maintains and organizes storage sheds and tool rooms as directed.
  • Other special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

  • High school / Trade School
  • Journeyman level understanding of:
    • Electrical
    • Plumbing
    • Carpentry
    • Doors
    • Flooring
    • Masonry/Tile
    • Vehicle repairs (gas and electric)
  • Must have clean driving record.
  • Ability to attain certifications in needed areas.

  • Work environment: the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate


This role requires working with a team in an office/ campus environment and is not a remote role. Any need for occasional offsite work or business-related travel is at the discretion of senior management and therefore, must be approved prior to booking travel. All expenses or commitments of department funds for any reason, must be approved in advance by the Hospitality Committee or a senior department manager.
