Position Summary

Reporting to the Dining Manager, Bartenders passionately model Kitchen Table's mission of providing fresh, vibrant, and nutritious food that creates a delightful dining experience. Bartenders will maintain an inviting dining and servery environment and ensuring cleanliness of all areas of Kitchen Table. Bartenders are well versed in 1440's cuisine profile and culture and are able to answer food and alcohol related questions to help teach our guests about our mission.

Accountabilities

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships and communication within the department, both with front of house staff and cooking team.
  • Follow the service standards in line with the 1440 Multiversity Cuisine Profile and the organization's vision, mission and values
  • Follow sanitation protocols set by Executive Chef and Dining Manager.
  • Interact with guests continually to ensure excellent service, communicate food-related questions to the chef on duty.
  • Making guest contact and ensuring service meets or exceeds the standards.
  • All stations at Kitchen Table are neat and organized, with attention to detail as the standard.
  • Ensure all food, condiments, and garnishes are being rotated and dated properly.
  • Complete knowledge of our beer and wine menu.
  • Creativity with available ingredients for a seasonal mocktail menu.
  • Serving alcohol responsibly and taking the reasonable steps to prevent underage drinking and over-serving guests.
  • Ensuring all utensils, glassware and cups are available and stocked for the guest to grab conveniently.
  • Following proper cash handling procedures and credit card protocols.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Must be over age 21.
  • Demonstrate a high-level of knowledge of our cuisine profile.
  • Have a current California Food Handler's Card.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Work with a sense of urgency.
  • Experience in the service industry with front of house.
  • Demonstrate experience and knowledge in impeccable front of house service standards, preferably in a large-scale dining environment.
  • Experience providing an excellent guest experience, including creating loyalty and repeat customers.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain positive relationships with both FOH and BOH employees.
  • Proven ability to build successful relationships with both superiors and colleagues.
  • Affinity with 1440 Multiversity's mission and core values.
  • Demonstrate experience in and enthusiasm for process improvement.
  • Highly collaborative, flexible team player, keen to engage in positive, supportive, professional relationships.
  • Able work standing and walking for up to 8 hours.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
