Position Summary

The Safety and Security Manager ensures a safe environment for all guests and staff on 1440 Multiversity's campus. The Safety and Security Manager works with the safety associates to provide direction and training for the existing team and new hires on safety initiatives and is an overall resource and liaison for all departments campus-wide. This role manages security/loss prevention operations on a daily basis. Areas of responsibilities include protection of property assets, employees, guests and property, accident and fire prevention and response. Hotel and Resort experience is required.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years' experience in the security/loss prevention or related professional area preferred, or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Criminal Justice or related major with 2 years' experience in the security/loss prevention or related professional area strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues. Must know workers compensation law and process.
  • Computer skills in Office Suite and CMMS systems preferred.
  • Hold valid California driver's license with ability to drive a company vehicle per insurance guidelines and per company policy.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Bilingual a strong plus
  • Ability to show strong leadership in guest hospitality to exemplify excellent customer service and empower employees to do the same.
  • Ability to prioritize jobs and requests given. Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Strong orientation towards 1440 Multiversity's mission and core value.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business demands, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Other special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
