As Operations Manager - Rooms you will help innovate, deliver, and co-create memorable and educational guest experiences while cultivating and nurturing a positive and caring work environment for all staff members. Paramount to your role is energizing 1440's Culture Principles and doing your part to help ensure fulfillment of the organization's mission and vision. In addition to the assigned duties below, you will ensure delivery of memorable moments emphasized by meaningful interaction with all operational team members while modeling the desired behavior expected of your colleagues and the teams you oversee. You will actively support and respect the direction established by senior leadership and be accountable to the performance of your job responsibilities to ensure adherence to established standards and protocol throughout campus. As a 1440 leader, you must display sound business acumen, authentic leadership skills, personally invest in the growth and development of your teams, and proactively contribute to the success of each department's and division's quantitative and qualitative business goals and fiduciary responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications & Responsibilities

  • Ensure Lodge Ground Floor, including external spaces and main drive are meeting 1440 Multiversity service standards.
  • Drive and lead initiatives for increasing awareness of 1440 Multiversity service standards across the campus to ensure quality service & products remain at the forefront.
  • Ensure departmental action plans are implemented and reviewed following quality service audit results.
  • Review the daily activities of all areas directly responsible for, including Medallia surveys and follow up with guests when appropriate.
  • Review, in conjunction with the Director of Rooms, arrivals and departures daily, ensuring that the necessary room allocations are made, and amenity requirements are communicated to the appropriate departments for action.
  • Maintain a Lodge & front of house presence as appropriate: greeting VIP and regular guest arrivals; ensuring 1440 Multiversity service standards are consistently achieved; monitoring the physical appearance and cleanliness of the Lodge lobby, arrival area, front drive, and public areas.

  • Oversee to ensure that a concise and accurate guest history system is maintained, and that recorded requirements are complied with for each individual guest.
  • Check, in conjunction with the Director of Rooms, senior leader of Housekeeping and Director of Facilities a minimum of 10 bedrooms or suites per week and all VIP rooms/suites, ensuring that work necessary to maintain the accommodation to the required standard is carried out.
  • Support the Director of Rooms in ensuring the preventative/perfect room program operates consistently and efficiently.
  • Monitors the staff within these operations - including digital communication and apps in use - to ensure guests receive prompt, cordial attention, and personal recognition, in line with campus policies and standards at all times.
  • Manages the Repeat Guest Recognition Program (RGRP) and VIP programs and ensures these are properly coordinated to the benefit of the customers concerned.
  • Support the Director of Rooms in managing the Medallia program for the areas of responsibility (with the senior leader of Front of House) to ensure data collection can be achieved and drives subsequent action plans to consistently improve performance and increase guest satisfaction levels in the Rooms areas.
  • As a proactive member of Operations management team and exchanges pertinent information between other departments and the division, notably, Facilities and Housekeeping.
  • Assumes overall responsibility for maintaining presentation standards to the Lodge arrival area to ensure facilities (both back and front of house for related areas) and equipment are clean, in good repair and well maintained.
  • Maintain effective communication within the campus and ensure that the the Director of Rooms in is kept well informed of any problems/queries that have arisen.
  • Is responsible for the scheduling and direct management of Front Desk, Ambassadors and Bell Staff.
  • Other special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
